Job Title: DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer with Java - London Based

Company Introduction
We are looking for an experienced DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer with Java experience to join our client in the global Investment Banking Sector.
The successful candidate for this role must be able to work on-site in Canary Wharf London 5 days a week.
Job Responsibilities/Objectives
1. Guides and assists others in the areas of building appropriate level designs and gaining consensus from peers where appropriate.
2. Experience with Technical Observability - Dynatrace or Datadog tool would be very useful. Also, experience with distributed traces will be beneficial.
3. Collaborates with other software engineers and team to design and implement deployment approaches using automated continuous integration and continuous delivery pipeline.
4. Collaborates with other software engineers and teams to design, develop, test and implement availability, reliability, scalability and solutions in their applications.
5. Implement infrastructure, configuration and network as code for the application and platform in your remit.
6. Collaborates with technical experts, key stakeholders and team members to resolve complex problems.
7. Understand service level indicators and utilizes service level objectives to proactively resolve issues before they impact customers.
8. Support the adoption of site reliability engineering best practices within your team.
Required Skills/Experience
1. Proficient in Site Reliability culture and principles and familiarity on how to implement site reliability within application or platform.
2. Have developer background and proficient in JAVA Backend Engineering (Core JAVA, Microservices and Spring framework).
3. Proficient knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a given technical discipline (e.g. Cloud, Artificial Intelligence, Android etc).
4. Experience in Observability such as white and black box monitoring, service level objective alerting and telemetry collections using tools like Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk and others.
5. Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab and terraform.
6. Familiarity with Container and container orchestration such as ECS, Kubernetes and Dockers.
7. Familiarity in troubleshooting common networking technologies and issues.
8. Ability to contribute to large and collaborative teams by presenting information in a logical and timely manner with compelling language and limited supervision.
9. Ability to proactively recognise road blocks and demonstrate interest in learning technology that facilitates innovation.
10. Ability to identify new technologies and relevant solutions to ensure design constraints are met by the software team.
11. Ability to initiate and implement ideas to solve business problems.
