We are keen to develop new and innovative ways of working to maximise the efficiency and performance of our land and property assets to enable the effective delivery of our front-line services. As such we are looking for highly motivated, commercially aware and solutions focused individuals who can hit the ground running and contribute to the deliverables within the Swindon Plan. Dependent on seniority of the role, you will have a professional qualification and/or a knowledge base or interest in land and property asset management, and experience related to the role. This ranges from achieving the best use of assets to support service delivery and keeping assets maintained and compliant, maximising the value of the commercial portfolio, or identifying and delivering added value through development. A good understanding of appropriate legislation for the relevant role is needed.

Your next role
The portfolio manager roles play a pivotal part in ensuring we are making the most of our land and property assets to meet the needs of our residents, generate increased commercial returns and help with our growth and place shaping aspirations.
Working to the Head of Property Management you will lead and manage your portfolio and be accountable for providing appropriate professional expertise in all aspects of estate management relating to it. You will be responsible for reviewing all assets within your portfolio and identifying, delivering and monitoring the best approach to maximise their contribution towards the Council’s 3 Missions of a Fairer, Better and Greener Swindon.
You will be comfortable working in a matrix environment, be pragmatic, innovative, have a strong commercial acumen, and be adept at solving problems and proficient in seeking out and unlocking opportunities which drive revenue. To support you to deliver this work you will lead, manage, monitor, supervise and empower a portfolio team to provide a comprehensive property management service for one of Swindon Borough Council’s key asset portfolios:
* Corporate Estate
* Commercial Assets
* Land & Miscellaneous Holdings
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
