On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit a Braking & Steering Control Systems Engineer on an initial 6-month contract. As the Braking & Steering Control Systems Engineer, you will be working on two of the most high-profile commercial aircraft in service. You will be tested with new engineering challenges in support of our wide network of customers and will undertake exciting activities covering a broad variety of tasks, delivering integrated technical solutions.
Role: Braking & Steering Control Systems Engineer
Pay: Up to 59.49 per hour Via Umbrella
Location: Filton
Contract: Monday - Friday, 35 Hours per week, 6-month contract
IR35 Status: Inside
Security Clearance: BPSS
Responsibilities:
* Work with and support the Engineering team to develop the technical solution.
* Ensure that Design Review deliverables will result in a mature and easily Certifiable product, if applied correctly within the company and by the Supplier.
* Ensure that best practices and lessons learned from other programmes are embedded.
* Support and enable the development of V&V planning throughout the design development life cycle.
* Resolve technical (in-service) incidents (concept design, drawing technical notes, instructions or specifications) ready to be manufactured or repaired; challenge customer requests technically and economically.
* Manage stakeholders effectively - report and communicate effectively.
* Respond to and/or escalate issues and key messages to management/program.
* Identify Risks and implement Mitigations and Opportunities in order to deliver to the Program.
Essential & Desirable Skills:
* Preferably 5-10 years' experience working with Landing Gear System Engineering.
* Pragmatic and technically oriented engineer required to solve and answer short-term driven (in-service queries, airworthiness queries, FAL queries) as well as long-term issues (being able to manage investigations with suppliers, for instance).
* Ability to use experience and willingness to mentor younger engineers.
* Might be required to manage subcontractors.
