You will be responsible for fundraising for the radio station with a particular focus on assisting with applications to grantmaking bodies and similar, and with approaching and facilitating contact with individuals and other organisations that might make substantial and/or regular donations towards the running costs of the radio station.
The Fundraising Officer will play a vital role in supporting Radio Maria England's fundraising initiatives and activities. He/she will lead initiatives to secure funding for Radio Maria England, ensuring the sustainability and growth of its mission.
This role involves building relationships with donors, developing fundraising strategies, and coordinating targeted events and campaigns to support the organisation's objectives.
Working closely with the Lead Trustee for Fundraising, the Priest Director and the Fundraising, Promotion & Events Manager, the Fundraising Officer will undertake various responsibilities to ensure the successful implementation of fundraising strategies and campaigns.

You will be line-managed by the Operations Coordinator and support the Fundraising, Promotion & Events Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Donor Research and Outreach:
Conduct research to identify potential donors, including individuals, corporations, and philanthropic organisations. Initiate contact and establish connections with prospective donors through calls, emails, and meetings. Develop tailored proposals and presentations to engage potential donors and secure support.
2. Donor Engagement and Retention:
Build and maintain strong relationships with current donors, ensuring regular communication and updates on the impact of their contributions. Plan and deliver strategies to retain and upgrade donor support over time.
3. Campaign Development:
Design and implement creative fundraising campaigns, including appeals, events, and online initiatives. Monitor the progress and impact of campaigns, adjusting strategies as needed to meet targets. Research and apply for relevant grants that align with Radio Maria England’s mission. Maintain accurate records and reports for grant funding compliance.
4. Event Coordination:
Support the plan and execution of fundraising events, ensuring a seamless experience for attendees and maximising income generation.
5. Data Management:
Support the maintenance of donor database to track contributions, interactions, and potential leads. Analyse fundraising data to inform strategy and identify new opportunities. Work closely with the Editorial and Promotion teams to align messaging and campaigns. Coordinate with the leadership team to identify priority funding needs.
6. Compliance:
Ensure compliance with the requirements of the Fundraising Regulator and the Fundraising Code of Practice.
Skills and qualities:
* Prior experience in fundraising, donor relations or related fields.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
* Creative problem-solving abilities, strategic thinking, and a gracious can-do attitude.
* Attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
* Familiarity with CRM (customer relationship management) systems and fundraising software is a plus.
* Passion for the mission and values of Radio Maria England.
Hours: Up to 4 days a week basis (75% of FTE). Job Type: Fixed-term contract for 12 months, renewable. Leave Entitlement: proportional to the hours contracted (24.75 days, 75% of FTE)
