An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our team of rotational senior clinical pharmacists.
This rotational post consists of 6 month rotations across a wide variety of specialist clinical areas including critical care, specialist medicine, surgery, nutrition, microbiology, and women's and children's medicine.

Prescribing is a key part of a developing pharmacist's role; therefore, you will be given the opportunity to undertake this training. As a senior clinical pharmacist, you will be expected to support the education and training of more junior staff, including foundation trainee pharmacists.
Responsibilities:
1. Providing a clinical service to the wards, discharge service, outpatients, technical services unit, and other service users.
2. Attending clinical ward rounds, clinical, and multidisciplinary meetings as appropriate.
3. Regularly recording clinical interventions and activities.
4. Providing specialist pharmaceutical information to medical, nursing, and other staff within the Trust where appropriate.
5. Promoting the safe, appropriate, and economic use of drugs.
6. Taking part in the emergency On-call Pharmacist rota working alone as the On-call Pharmacist providing medicines information, advice, and supply out of hours and sourcing of urgently required drugs from external suppliers and other sites across MSE.
7. Supporting the Trust Medication Safety Officer and Pharmacy Risk Governance Pharmacist with the medicines optimisation and governance agenda.
8. Monitoring the safe and secure storage of medication both within the pharmacy department and on the wards.
9. Facilitating implementation of local and national guidelines where appropriate e.g., NICE.
10. Keeping accurate patient medication and drug issue records using the Pharmacy Wellsky computer system.
