Shift Team Leader – Biomass Power Station
Up to £60,000 + bonus + benefits

MC Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Shift Team Leader to join the operations department of a biomass power station in Ely, Cambridgeshire. The Shift Team Leader will be responsible for directing and managing the shift team effectively to ensure the site meets its operational targets safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
1. Supervising a team of Control Room Operators and Fuel Operators ensuring efficient operation of the power station.
2. Ensuring the plant is operating in line with the site's environmental permit.
3. Managing the safe systems of work as a site SAP for issuing permits and HV switching duties.
4. Managing shift team resources to ensure effective training and development of operational staff.
5. Liaising with the maintenance department when required to ensure minimum downtime and maximum operational availability.
6. Carrying out all activities with the highest regard for health and safety.
Qualifications:
1. Experience at Shift Team Leader / Shift Manager / Production Team Leader or Senior Operator level in an operational power environment (e.g., EFW, biomass, site utilities, gas or coal-fired plants).
2. Ideally, a relevant engineering qualification such as NVQ / HNC / apprenticeship etc.
3. Experience with coordinating and supervising work activities including shift staff and site contractors.
4. Ideally, experience as an SAP and experience with HV switching duties.
5. An adaptable approach to working routines and willingness to work on a shift pattern that involves 12-hour shifts.
