Position: Application Architect
Location: Warrington / Cumbria (12-month contract)

Role Overview:
The role supports the Digital Asset Management (DAM) programme within Sellafield, part of the PPP support team. The DAM programme aims to improve site-wide asset management by creating an integrated information system that connects asset data from the operational level to enterprise systems, utilizing modern digital technologies to enhance decision-making.
Responsibilities:
1. Create designs for applications and APIs
2. Integrate multiple applications enterprise-wide via an API middle tier
3. Provide technical assurance to developers and test teams
4. Work within an agile sprint-based team
5. Design applications to meet security standards and incorporate secure solutions
6. Utilize manual and automated software development tools
7. Manage integration testing and support application testing
8. Manage code, branching strategies, and releases via Azure DevOps
9. Deliver solutions within agile methodologies such as SCRUM and DevOps
10. Minimum three years’ experience in secure environment solution delivery
11. Experience with devSecOps documentation and control methods
12. Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders
13. Maintain good organizational skills for timely delivery
14. Exhibit strong written, oral, and presentation skills
Skills / Essential:
1. Provide architecture guidance for applications and APIs, including high and low-level designs
2. Understand requirements and develop options to meet user needs, guiding devOps teams
3. Manage development timescales, backlogs, priorities, and risks
4. Validate and oversee third-party vendors and systems suppliers
5. Develop and maintain development policies and procedures
6. Experience with DevOps, DevSecOps, Agile, and traditional methodologies
7. Thorough understanding of UK Gov security standards for systems
Skills / Desirable:
1. Experience across the entire software development lifecycle
2. Leadership experience in managing development teams alongside project managers
3. Creation of system design documentation and test plan assurance
