We are delighted to be in a position of expanding our workforce and are looking to appoint a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our well-established and innovative children and young people's mental health service in South Tyneside.
We are looking for an individual who has the ability to support the leadership of South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust children and young people's mental health workers in our Lifecycle Service.
The team is multi-disciplinary and is comprised of high and low intensity Children and Young Peoples Mental Health (CYPMH) practitioners providing a range of therapeutic interventions to children, young people and their families who present with moderately severe mental health conditions.
We expect the post holder to have sound children and young people's mental health knowledge and skills. You will have the aptitude, motivation, and enthusiasm for working within a groundbreaking service.

1. Significant experience of working to support the mental health needs of children, young people, and families.
2. Experience of working within a community context.
3. Experience of leading in the development of specific aspects of service delivery and people management.
4. Extensive experience of working collaboratively within a multi-agency context.
5. Ability to complete comprehensive mental health assessments and plan, implement and evaluate specialist packages of care for children, young people, and their families.
6. Proven ability to design and deliver training to a broad range of professionals.
7. Ability to offer consultation and advice to a broad range of professionals and work cooperatively to deliver joint interventions with a range of providers.
8. Ability to engage vulnerable and underserved groups.
9. Knowledge and experience of safeguarding and the promotion of welfare in children.
10. Ability to work at the complex interface between universal and specialist children's service provision.
11. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
12. Excellent time and caseload management.
Job responsibilities
To be the team level clinical lead for clinicians in the designated specialty, leading on professional development and ensuring the delivery of robust evidence-based practice.
To participate in the establishment of systems, assisting the Clinical Team Manager in the development of clinical practice, to ensure that the developments are embedded within the team and are sustainable.
To ensure high professional standards of clinical practice in accordance with the NMC code of conduct and other relevant professional regulatory bodies, with professional accountability to the Nursing and Governance Directorate.
To lead the planning, implementation, and participation in training and educational activities relevant to practice development for clinicians in the designated specialty.
To support the Clinical Team Manager and other senior clinical staff in establishing and maintaining high standards and continual improvement within the established governance framework.
To undertake ongoing audit of care and service delivery, underpinned by research and evidence-based practice. Undertake research as part of the role.
To coordinate and deliver clinical and caseload management supervision to support all clinical staff within the area of responsibility.
To undertake assessment and provide person-centred care and treatment within the clinical framework and Trust protocol, in accordance with qualification and competence to practice.
To promote at all times a positive image of children and young people with mental health conditions.

Qualifications
* Registered nurse with appropriate registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
* Additional post graduate qualification in Child and Adolescent Mental Health, therapeutic training or other relevant area.
* Teaching certificate.
