Are you looking at taking the first step in your career or looking for a change of direction and want to develop your skills and confidence within a workplace? Tool Connection is offering a fantastic opportunity to participate in our Business Trainee Programme.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a thriving local business, where you will have a chance to try different trades and skills. Each department will offer a different understanding of the business.
Placements run for 12 – 18 months, and during this time you will be working with the following teams: Human Resources, Finance, Warehouse Administration, Purchasing/Rebranding, Marketing, Service, and Quality and Environment.
There will also be an option to add other ‘unique to Tool Connection’ departments to your schedule if you wish to do so during your option blocks. A mentor will be designated to you who will provide you with guidance and support within each department and help you during your training programme journey. If successful at the end of the scheme, you will have the opportunity to move into full employment with the company in the area you have excelled in or have a special interest in. At this point, we will offer you the chance to undertake a Vocational Qualification if desired.
The Candidate
We are searching for vibrant, enthusiastic candidates with a real desire to take on a new challenge and remain open-minded during the programme. You will need to be keen to learn and versatile to adapt well to different work requirements within each department.
Why work for Tool Connection?
We are offering a great opportunity to join a successful and growing business. You will be joining a friendly team in a modern environment with fantastic prospects for future progression – our current Managing Director started his Tool Connection career as a warehouse operative, so we are experienced in growing our teams and giving them the best support they need to thrive.
You will be joining a team of trainees at Tool Connection, who are at different stages of their journey with us. We hold regular trainee catch-ups where you will get to chat with the other trainees over a coffee (and sometimes cake!) about their experiences and share thoughts.
During these sessions, your mentors will also provide some guidance on soft skills and dealing with a variety of situations in the workplace – all designed to set you up well for when you potentially take on a full-time role in the business.
