Technology Operations is a part of BBC Technology & Media Operations. As the broadcast technology partner for BBC programme teams, Technology Operations is responsible for keeping multi-media output available 24/365 across the BBC. Technology Operations provides operational switching and monitoring of incoming and outgoing live and pre-recorded material across a range of BBC output, business continuity, duty operational management and a range of operational support services. This attachment / fixed term contract will be sitting within the Networks Booking Team. We are a small Team of seven, four of the Team are based in NBH, sitting alongside the Tech Ops Scheduling Team. We are responsible for the operation of the three Contribution Radio Studios as well as Network, EBU and Local Radio Bookings, NCA Studios Bookings, Financial recoveries, Schedule checking and reporting. The rest of the Team are based in Wood Norton. We are part of Tech Ops MCR and work closely with the Broadcast Engineers to ensure our output is maintained to the highest standard. This role involves showing guests to the Studios, some of the guests are extremely high profile so we will need to complete a background check on the successful applicants.,
* Organise feeds of material between domestic or world-wide sources and BBC areas, often under pressure and against deadlines for both recording and live transmission.
* Liaise with other areas of the BBC to enable programme material to be recorded, played out or transmitted at times when circuits or other resources are available.
* Allocates technical resources to bookings and arranges facilities as required.
* Organise shared facilities within the BBC and with other media organisations and providers.
* Apply a basic understanding of broadcasting to the booking of resources to meet the BBC's needs.
* Maintains full and accurate data on facilities and resource usage, collating and processing data to enable cost recovery to be carried out.
* Provide advice and cost estimates to aid production areas.
* Undertake any other duties that may reasonably be considered appropriate and must be willing to adopt a flexible approach.
Excellent organisational abilities and customer focus.
* Knowledge of other resource providers at home, abroad and within the BBC.
* Experience of coordination in broadcast environment.
* Has a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
* Knowledge and experience of a scheduling system, together with well-developed IT skills.
