Project Manager - Engineering (Food Processing & Packaging Industry)
Location: Rochester, Kent
Salary: Up to £45,000 + perks

Our client, a leading supplier of specialist machinery to the food processing and packaging sector across the UK and Ireland, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team. Their customers range from major PLCs to independent producers, offering diverse and exciting challenges in the role.

Required Qualifications & Experience
1. Leadership experience within an engineering environment
2. Proficiency in DraftSight and SolidWorks
3. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
4. Expertise in material selection
5. Experience designing automated equipment
6. FMCG sector experience (highly desirable)
Key Responsibilities
1. Project & Sales Support: Ensure accuracy and feasibility of solutions and quotes
2. Customer Liaison: Engage directly with clients and conduct site surveys across the UK & Ireland
3. Design & Engineering:
1. Lead system design reviews with sales, electrical, and production teams
2. Create detailed 2D & 3D models using DraftSight and SolidWorks
3. Produce high-quality manufacturing drawings
4. Work closely with the electrical design team throughout the process
5. Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs), cut lists, and installation drawings
4. Process & Workflow Management: Identify and implement improvements in processes and workflows
5. Stock & Supplier Coordination: Monitor material/component stock, liaise with suppliers, place orders, and track deliveries
6. Production Oversight: Track design and production progress, troubleshoot errors, and drive efficiency improvements
7. Project Management: Oversee projects from quotation to installation, ensuring timely delivery and quality execution
8. Documentation & Compliance: Generate technical documentation, machine manuals, and maintain data in a PDM system
9. Team Leadership: Manage engineering personnel in the factory and a design engineer
10. Strategic Planning: Review plans with Directors to assess feasibility
