There are lots of opportunities for development and training The candidate should be a professionally credible first level registered nurse with substantial experience of Elective Orthopaedic and Surgical Care. Working with the local and nationally agreed frameworks whilst developing your practice to enable you to have the ability to exercise independent judgement to assess, investigate, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate the clinical care and management of patients within the Elective Care department. Main duties of the job Main Duties and Responsibilities: Deliver and participate in the clinical care of patients in the elective care Unit at UHH and any deteriorating patient on UHH site. Prioritise health needs and intervenes appropriately. Recognise any deteriorating patients and escalate accordingly Transfer unstable patients across site or to another centre accordingly To be professional and legally accountable for all work undertaken to practice at an advanced level of professional autonomy and accountability that is within Trust policies and the Nursing and Midwifery Code of Conduct (2008) or the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). To develop a level of advanced and comprehensive health assessment skills based on a specialist body of knowledge under supervision To assist in appropriately assessing, examining, investigating, diagnosing and treating patients, resulting in the safe management and appropriate referral or discharge of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed presentations.
