We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and skilled Mental Health Support Worker to join our exceptional healthcare team. As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will provide essential support to patients with mental health conditions, helping them manage their well-being in a hospital setting. You will play a vital role in assisting patients in their recovery journey, offering a safe and supportive environment for them to express their needs and concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide practical and emotional support to female patients experiencing mental health challenges, including those with anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and other psychiatric conditions.
2. Assist in the delivery of individual and group therapeutic interventions under the guidance of clinical staff.
3. Observe and monitor patient behaviors, offering assistance in daily activities to promote recovery and independence.
4. Assist patients with personal care, including dressing, grooming, and hygiene, ensuring their comfort and dignity are maintained at all times.
5. Engage patients in meaningful activities to promote their mental well-being, including art therapy, exercise, and social interactions.
6. Provide emotional support and act as a key point of contact for patients, helping them to express their concerns and needs.
7. Assist in the creation and implementation of personalized care plans in collaboration with mental health professionals.
8. Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the nursing and clinical teams in a timely manner.
9. Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure coordinated patient care.
10. Ensure the safety and security of the environment by following hospital policies and safeguarding procedures.
11. Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date patient records and care documentation in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
12. Promote a non-judgmental, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere, maintaining professional boundaries with patients and colleagues.
Requirements:
1. Previous experience in a mental health support or care role.
