About the roleWest Northamptonshire Council have launched a new way of working within Turn Furlong, a Specialist Care Centre (Kingsthorpe, Northampton), alongside Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, to provide a new integrated health and social care model of care for people needing short term support upon discharge from hospital.The Recovering Independence Beds unit is delivered by a range of staff, from both health and social care settings. Our team deliver clinical care, rehabilitation support and care support, ensuring people experience the best quality of service they can, in a prompt and seamless way.We deliver vital intermediate care for people in Northamptonshire, specialising in rehabilitation/reablement and sub-acute care for people discharged from acute hospitals. As the focus of the centres is rehabilitation and reablement, the integrated multi-disciplinary team of staff includes senior nurses, staff nurses, unregistered staff, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, medical staff and care and support staff.Our care homes offer a wonderful living environment where our residents can enjoy the best quality of life possible, which they deserve.With our great accommodation, facilities and a programme of activities, our care homes feel like a “home from home” so our residents feel comfortable, content and very well cared for. What will you be doing?No late nights or evenings!• To be responsible for the day-to-day preparation and cooking of meals.• Support other experienced kitchen staff.• Liaise with suppliers to order and receive goods.• Be responsible for ensuring that health & safety standards are met in the kitchen.• Modified textured diets.Working 12 Hours per week, covering between 9am – 1pm on a 4-weekly, rota.
