We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Deputy Team Leader to support the delivery of The King’s Trust Team Programme – a transformative 12-week personal development course. With plans to run three cohorts per year, this is a fantastic opportunity to make an impact.
As Deputy Team Leader, you will play an essential role in assisting the Team Leader in delivering a dynamic and impactful programme. You will help mentor and motivate young people aged 16-25, guiding them as they build confidence, develop vital life and employability skills, and progress into employment, education, training, volunteering, or apprenticeships.
What you’ll be doing:
* Supporting the Team Leader in planning and delivering the 12-week programme, including a residential experience, community projects, and work placements.
* Deputising for the Team Leader when required.
* Assisting in the recruitment of young people for the Team Programme.
* Providing one-to-one support and mentoring to help participants overcome barriers and achieve their goals.
* Supporting the delivery of The King’s Trust Certificate/Award in Employment, Teamwork and Community Skills from Entry Level 3 to Level 2.
* Ensuring all programme paperwork is completed accurately and on time.
* Assisting young people with their literacy, language, numeracy, and digital skills as needed.
* Liaising with employers, community organisations, and other stakeholders to create opportunities for young people.
What we’re looking for:
* Experience working with young people in an educational, mentoring, or coaching capacity.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* A proactive, adaptable, and supportive approach to working in a team.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
* The ability to motivate and inspire participants to achieve their goals.
* A willingness to attend the residential trip for one week per cohort and undertake The King’s Trust training.
* A Level 3 Award in Education and Training (or equivalent) or a willingness to achieve this within the first year of employment.
* Willingness to deputise for the Team Leader if required.

Travel expenses will be paid.
Hours : 37 hours per week/52 weeks per year (except during residential trips 3x per year) with 22 days holiday in addition to public bank holidays. Annual leave will need to coincide with school holiday closure periods at Christmas, Easter, or at the end of the Summer Term.
Salary : Support Staff SCP 18 - currently £34,033 per annum.
Contract: Fixed term contract until 31st August 2026, with the possibility of extension to 31st August 2027 depending on funding.
