This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead the development and delivery of key Base24 projects, driving innovation and ensuring the smooth operation of ATM/POS software solutions within the payments portfolio. Role: Senior Developer - Base 24 Duration: 6 months (View to extend to a year) Location: Hybrid/Remote - Swindon Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain Base24 software applications Collaborate with business and IT teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications Implement and support ATM/POS projects, including migration from Base24 classic to EPS, and ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., VISA and LINK schemes) Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance Enhance system resilience, sustainability, and recovery capabilities Mentor and lead a team of Base24 Engineers, both onshore and offshore Lead and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team regarding Base24 technology and industry standards Essential Skills & Experience: 8 years of proven experience in Base24 software development Proficiency in programming languages such as TAL, COBOL, and S-COBOL Strong understanding of Base24 architecture, ATM/POS functionality, transaction switching, and interfaces (VISA, LINK, EMV) Experience with HP NonStop platforms and tools like VersaTest, XPNET Familiarity with HPNS Architecture, Pathway/Pathcom, Enscribe, TMF, FUP, Enform, EMS, and more Knowledge of card schemes (e.g., Visa, MasterCard, LINK) Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Proven ability to mentor and guide a team of engineers Desirable Skills & Experience: Experience in Base24 Classic to EPS migration Familiarity with transaction testing tools like Iliad, Paragon, Visa VTS Knowledge of source code version control tools like RMS A deep understanding of the entire payments platform and Agile methodologies If you are interested and have the relevant skills and experience, please apply promptly to discuss further
