You will be working 37.5 hours per week (12 months Maternity cover)
Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for organising and coordinating First Tier Tribunals Section Renewal and Hospital Manager Appeal meetings for service users, this will see you prepare and arrange paperwork to support the meetings.
As a Mental Health Act Administrator, you will process hearings for Mental Health Tribunals and Hospital Managers Reviews, and will be responsible for notifying all parties, obtaining reports, negotiate hearing dates and venue, and providing and processing documentation in line with MHA Code of Practice an procedures.

As a Medical Health Act Administrator you will be:
1. Attending Managers Review Hearings in the capacity of the MHA Administrator/Clerk and ensure the review satisfies the fundamental legal requirements of fairness reasonableness and lawfulness.
2. Following up MHA action points included in the Care Quality Commission reports submitted following visits to clinical areas.
3. Liaising with the consultants and nursing team to update service users information regarding renewal of sections and consent to treatments.
4. Providing information to service users about their access to Independent Mental Heal Advocacy Services (IMHA).
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
5. Confidence to liaise and give advice to a wide range of people from different profession
6. Experience within a similar role
7. Knowledge of the relevant legislation and current case law relating to the Act.
Where you will be working:
You will be working at The Spinney, a service which offer a range of care settings for male patients with personality disorder and/or mental illness. The purpose-built medium, low secure and rehabilitation wards, as well as a psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) are all set within an 11 acre site with extensive woodland and landscaped areas.
You will be working alongside a multidisciplinary team at The Spinney who have previously been recognised by the Association of Psychological Therapies (APT) for their ability to reinforce positive behaviour, prevention of challenging behaviour and successful interventions in a secure care setting.
