To support the Site Manager in attaining established safety, site KPI performance, environmental, cost, quality, and service goals by efficiently overseeing site operations. Constantly enhance personal competencies to work autonomously in accordance with the guidance provided within the Higher Apprentice Programme as a Mineral Products Technician. The main activity of the role involves assisting in managing the operational team to achieve its performance objectives and continuous improvement in all areas stated in the Heidelberg Materials UK Sustainability Report. Working alongside the Site Manager the Trainee Supervisor is required to take part and develop their knowledge, skills, and behaviours in the following areas: Health and Safety Operating to the highest level of health and safety objectives in line with Heidelberg Materials Health and Safety Plan and procedures set in the Integrated Management System. Assist with the administration of all procedures relating to Health & Safety i.e. Risk Assessments, Safe Working Practices, COSHH etc. Proactively demonstrate high personal standards of safety behaviour, and monitor the performance of the workplace through ‘Near Hit’ reporting and safety ‘Conversation’ processes Environmental Operating to the highest level of environmental objectives in line with Heidelberg Materials Environmental Management Plan and procedures set in the Integrated Management System. Assist with the administration of all Environmental procedures e.g. PPC Permit monitoring, monitoring within any permits issued by the Environment Agency and Community Liaison Assist with the identification and delivery of resource savings initiatives (Energy/water) Quality Working with the technical function to ensure operational procedures are such that quality levels are achieved at the most efficient operational cost. Compliance Assist in ensuring all statutory legislation and company regulations are adhered to with respect to all operational activities. Operations Assist in achieving optimum production output in line with commercial activity at the lowest sustainable operational cost. Continually advance operational improvements to increase efficiency with good management of the production functions. Assist in the management of mobile plant and machinery to ensure efficient running of plants to achieve outputs inc. Regular Inspection, managing breakdown situations, preventative maintenance.
