The Rosewarne Animal Management Department houses approx 150 species, covering exotics, avian, livestock, hoof stock, aquatics, large, small and exotic mammals.
About the role
Animal Management Learning Support Technicians are responsible for the day to day running of the unit, providing all of our animals with the 5 animal needs as well as assisting in the preparation of lessons, upkeep of equipment and instructing on practical sessions to enhance the student learning experience. This role requires a strong commitment to animal welfare, as well as the ability to work in a dynamic environment. You will engage in various tasks that support the health and wellbeing of the animals, all while ensuring a high quality of learning and teaching resources are available in all sessions to provide learners with the maximum opportunity to succeed. The post holder will support the students learning experience as a supervisor and role model, also working closely with the Animal Management teaching team.
Skills & Experience
We can offer ongoing development and progression within this large and innovative college. We are looking for an industry professional and would fully support you with teacher training to complement the role. Applicants will need to be qualified to a minimum of level 3 in an Animal Management related subject area & experienced working in a practical setting within an animal care environment. Knowledge and experience working with a broad range of animal species is also advantageous.
Hours of work
This role is on a part-time basis; 22.5 hours per week.
