We are looking for a self-motivated and experienced Design and Project Engineer with a background in steel fabrication and design, who will play a key role in the ongoing evolution of our product ranges and work on significant commercial and development projects.

Who we are:
The UK’s leading manufacturer of CCTV camera mounting equipment. We design, manufacture and supply our wide and varied product range, from our base in Capel Hendre, near Swansea at the end of the M4 in South Wales. Most of our processes are in house; we laser-cut, press, fabricate, weld and also powder coat, along with the assembly and distribution of our products, throughout the UK and Worldwide.
Job role
1. Working within a niche specialist manufacturing organisation, reporting back to the Product Director, you will comply with specific design codes and manufacturing requirements, working on the design and development of our CCTV product ranges for Highways, renewables, our export markets and our ever-expanding UK CCTV market.
2. Developing product range support information, including product justification via external engineers, product data sheets, jig design/development etc.
3. Work closely with other product support and technical staff, to ensure product specifications and project deadlines are met.
4. Deal with project-based orders and bespoke product orders, providing relevant product detail to enable successful production, assembly and installation.
5. Produce customer and project proposals.
Qualifications and experience
1. Extensive experience in a design role biased towards a structural steel product range.
2. An Engineering Degree in Mechanical or Structural discipline, or HNC with other suitable qualifications and experience.
3. Good working knowledge/ understanding of welding and fabrication processes, ideally having had hands on experience and worked closely with welding and fabrication in previous job roles.
4. Good draughting ability - 2D and 3D CAD packages.
5. Experienced in handling project work.
6. Experienced using specialist engineering/design software.
7. Working in accordance with BS EN standards relevant to the design of structural steelwork.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel, producing reports, presentations and project plans.

Hours of work
40 hrs per week – 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday.
Annual leave
First year, 20 days + bank holidays, thereafter 25 days + bank holidays.
