We are looking to appoint a Service Lead in Children's Services to take forward the operational leadership of the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Healthy Child Programme and the Cambridgeshire Children in Care Team.
This will be an exciting, fulfilling and challenging role. We are looking for someone with existing Children's senior experience of leading Health Visiting, School Nursing & Family Nurse partnership services as this opportunity is for an interim period of 11 months.
The role will be critical to improving and maintaining performance, enhancing patient experience, improving clinical outcomes, and sustaining safe, efficient, and affordable services.
We are looking for a candidate with:
1. A proven track record at senior Children's operational management level
2. The skills to negotiate and influence, embracing partnerships across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough geographical system
3. The ability to engage effectively with partners, stakeholders, and the people we serve
4. A track record of delivering against targets and performance management

Main duties of the job
The Healthy Child Programme (HCP) & Children in Care (CiC) Lead's role is to:
1. Lead the 0-19 Healthy Child Programme (HCP) across Cambridgeshire & Peterborough and the Cambridgeshire Children in Care (CiC) team ensuring that high quality care is delivered to local residents.
2. To lead the 0-19 HCP as one service jointly across both community NHS organisations - Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust (CCS) and Cambridgeshire & Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT).
3. Deliver on expectations within the HCP contracts for the service, including making sure that all Key Performance Indicators are met, and related income is earned.
4. Support and provide transformational leadership across the Healthy Child Programme & Children in care team, acting as an agent for change and pioneering the changes that need to happen in order to improve service delivery and outcomes for children and young people.
5. Deliver against all of the key local and national targets and be accountable for achieving high quality care and delivering against the budget targets for the service through excellent management and leadership.
6. The role entails being the local external face of the HCP & CiC across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. The post holder will develop and maintain excellent relationships with all stakeholders.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Ensure the Healthy Child Programme (HCP) in Cambridgeshire & Peterborough and the Cambridgeshire Children in Care (CiC) team delivers high quality, safe and effective services.
2. Ensure that the HCP continues to develop and innovate with a focus on meeting children and young peoples needs and improved outcomes.
3. Support the development of an integrated 0-19 Healthy Child Programme across Cambridgeshire & Peterborough and take a leadership role for development of areas of work.
4. Support the development of the Children and Young Peoples annual plan ensuring it contributes to the delivery of objectives and meets all of the local and national targets.
5. Ensure robust financial governance and the achievement of financial targets and be responsible for the overall financial performance of the HCP in Cambridgeshire & Peterborough and the CiC team in Cambridgeshire.
6. Provide effective leadership for the HCP and CiC teams, ensuring all staff are supported to undertake their roles and responsibilities.
7. Develop and sustain excellent working relationships with key partners, individuals, and stakeholder groups across the geography.

1. Provide budget holder responsibility for the Healthy Child Programme in Cambridgeshire & Peterborough and the Cambridgeshire Children in Care team.
2. Support and fully participate in the annual budget preparation and planning processes.
3. Support effective operational financial management within the service.
4. Support any cost improvement programmes are developed and delivered.
People Management
1. Responsible for day-to-day management of team, including grievance, disciplinary, appraisal, and work allocation.
2. Development of staff, including robust succession planning across the whole service.
3. Support the development of a robust skill mix staff team.
4. Maintaining own professional development and requirement to take part in appraisal and KSF process.
