PURPOSE OF JOB:
Using a wide range of materials (stainless, mild steel, plastic, brass etc.), you will be responsible for setting and operating Manual Turning/Milling machines to produce high-quality components, to customer specifications and in line with our Quality Assurance Procedures, to engineering drawings.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. To manufacture parts to customer requirements.
2. To ensure that all parts are manufactured to specified tolerances by using suitable measuring equipment at the frequency specified in the Company's Quality Management System (QMS).
3. Taking details from customer drawings to produce components.
4. To select the appropriate tooling for set up and manufacture.
5. Ensuring that all parts conform to requirements by conducting first-off inspection and in-work inspections as required.
6. Perform changeovers between jobs, ensuring the machines are cleaned down and 5S is conducted.
7. To possess basic troubleshooting/fault finding skills to identify quality issues and provide remedial actions to overcome.
8. To clock on and off jobs using the Company's MRP system to allow accurate tracking of timing and costs.
9. Will perform other duties as directed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
1. You will be a time-served miller/turner with in-depth knowledge of engineering, particularly around the manufacture of shafts/keyways.
2. Experience of CNC machines is preferred.
3. Accurately break down work and produce one-offs.
4. Driven and dynamic with the ability to think on your feet.
