Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Earthworks Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering and earthworks, with the necessary certifications and experience to oversee and manage earth-moving activities on construction sites. This role involves ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities:
* Oversee and manage soil disposal and earth-moving activities on the construction site.
* Continuously monitor and coordinate earthwork progress with contractors to ensure timely and quality execution.
* Supervise all earthwork operations and maintain clear and effective communication with site personnel throughout the earthwork activities.
* Prepare for project startup with the General Superintendent and Project Manager.
* Execute project activities as required to meet day-to-day and overall objectives.
* Understand and apply the requirements in project documents with regard to quality control procedures.
* Provide input on scheduling and placement of production crews.
* Plan and review the construction project with the General Superintendent and Project Manager on a weekly basis.
* Ensure timely on-site delivery of materials and equipment furnished by the company and subcontractors.
* Develop final punch lists and ensure all project tasks are completed.
* Work with the Safety Director to establish and maintain good safety and security practices for the entire project in accordance with applicable safety codes and regulations.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as an Earthworks Supervisor or in a similar role.
* Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in earthworks or civil engineering.
* Strong knowledge of earthwork systems and construction materials.
* Valid certifications such as CSCS, SSSTS, and other relevant tickets.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in project management software and tools.
* Flexibility to work varying hours to accommodate job requirements.
