Allen Lane are supporting a Local Authority outside of London who are seeking a skilled Interim Commercial Property Solicitor to provide comprehensive legal support on a range of commercial property matters.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage end-to-end conveyancing processes for commercial premises and recreational land, including acquisition and disposal of freehold and leasehold properties.
* Draft, review, and finalise option agreements, pre-contract packages, contracts, and lease/transfer documents; oversee completion and post-completion procedures.
* Execute transactions for significant projects, such as property sales for public infrastructure improvements.
* Prepare and register deeds of variation, leases, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
* Draft and negotiate a variety of contractual agreements with leaseholders, freeholders, solicitors, and external agencies, ensuring council compliance with lease obligations.
* Conduct legal research and provide advice on issues related to property law, landlord/tenant matters, and council policies, briefing counsel or expert witnesses as required.
* Ensure all activities comply with the Lexcel quality standard and contribute to the continuous improvement of legal processes within the council.
Requirements:
* Qualified solicitor with substantial experience in commercial property law, particularly within a local government or public sector setting.
* Strong knowledge of property law, regulatory compliance, conveyancing, and contractual negotiations.
* Proven ability to manage high-stakes transactions, prepare detailed legal documents, and provide thorough legal guidance on council property matters.
* Excellent drafting, negotiation, and interpersonal skills for liaising with multiple stakeholders.
Initial 6-month contract

Paying £55/hr
