As a Solution Architect, you will:
1. Lead the technical discovery process, identifying requirements, dependencies, and constraints for the replacement ePMA and PAS systems.
2. Develop integration specifications to ensure seamless interoperability with existing NHS systems, including EHRs, pharmacy systems, and national NHS platforms.
3. Collaborate with stakeholders and third-party suppliers to assess potential solutions.
Main duties of the job:
1. Defining the technical requirements, integration plans, and migration strategies for the new ePMA and PAS systems.
2. Leading the technical discovery and evaluation process for both systems, ensuring they meet clinical, operational, and IT requirements.
3. Working collaboratively with Digital Information Technology (DIT), Medicines Management and Pharmacy Services (MMPS), Clinical Operations, and key stakeholders to develop robust, scalable, and interoperable solutions.
4. Ensuring seamless integration with existing EHR, PAS, pharmacy, and prescribing systems, enabling safe and efficient workflows.
5. Developing interoperability strategies in line with NHS standards, including FHIR, HL7, SNOMED CT, and OpenEHR.
6. Ensuring compliance with clinical safety standards (DCB0129/0160), regulatory requirements (HIPAA, GDPR), and NHS digital frameworks.
7. Supporting procurement, vendor assessments, and solution evaluations, ensuring the selected ePMA and PAS solutions align with LTHT's long-term digital roadmap.
8. Engaging with clinical and operational teams to document technical and infrastructure needs, ensuring the new systems meet the evolving needs of the Trust.

Requirements Essential:
* Experience defining and implementing strategic and operational enterprise architecture planning within a complex organisation, particularly in ePMA and PAS deployments.
* Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively.
* Advanced data management, reporting, and system integration skills relevant to NHS digital projects.
* Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and research into emerging healthcare IT standards and technologies.
* Ability to travel when required for stakeholder meetings and project implementation across NHS sites.

Qualifications Essential:
* Degree or equivalent higher education qualification in a relevant field.
* Industry-based Architecture Certification (e.g., IT Architect Certification, TOGAF Certification, or Master of Enterprise Architecture).
* Evidence of management development through Continuous Professional Development and/or formal management courses.
Experience Essential:
* Extensive experience as a solution, technical, or integration architect in a complex digital environment, working with diverse technologies, platforms, and large-scale systems.
* Strong knowledge and experience of architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF).
* Proven track record of delivering enterprise-scale digital solutions, particularly in healthcare IT projects such as Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (ePMA) or Patient Administration Systems (PAS).
* Experience working within a large, complex, multi-disciplinary organisation, with an understanding of NHS-specific digital transformation challenges, including interoperability, data sharing, and clinical workflows.
* Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to new technical areas and transfer knowledge effectively.
* Experience managing and engaging a variety of senior stakeholders across clinical, operational, and IT teams.
* Proven ability to gather business requirements and work with diverse stakeholders, including clinicians, digital teams, and procurement.
* Experience leading negotiations on highly complex matters, both internally and externally.
* Experience motivating and inspiring teams to work towards a shared objective, both directly and indirectly.
* Demonstrable track record in delivering complex targets and objectives to tight deadlines.
