An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of the Homeless Centre Team, providing support accommodation to vulnerable families who are homeless.
The core work of the Team is ensuring that families are provided with the relevant support to assist them in securing permanent accommodation, ensuring residents adhere to the terms and conditions of their licence agreements, and ensuring the buildings meet and maintain health and safety standards.
We are looking for someone who has general maintenance and decorating skills and is able to provide a responsive, customer-focused building support service within one of our homeless centres.
The role will involve carrying out minor repairs, general maintenance, and decorating, and you will be expected to plan and carry out weekly/monthly safety checks.
There may be rare occasions where you may be required to work outside of normal working hours in order to manage the needs of the service or customer.
For any informal inquiries, please contact Richard Welch at richard.welch@birmingham.gov.uk.
You must upload a Supporting Statement via the attachments part of your application. This is required for shortlisting; you need to describe how your experience and skills fit the essential criteria for the role as specified in the Person Specification.
