You will gain all-round experience of working in a busy finance directorate by supporting a number of teams in DfT’s finance directorate, including financial accounting, cash and debt management, payment services and business partnering.
Responsibilities
Key accountabilities of the role include:
* Producing accurate cash forecasts that meet daily, monthly and annual thresholds.
* Implementing new banking initiatives.
* Assisting in the preparation of DfT’s financial accounts.
* Collating evidence required for audits.
* Completing transactional activities with clear record for audit.
* Supporting Finance Business Partners with month-end and forecasting activities.
* Ensuring suitable evidence is present to support business cases.
* Monitoring the recovery of debts due to DfT from other organisations.
* Advising programme delivery team and policy makers on ad-hoc enquiries.
* Liaising with the wider finance community across central government and the transport sector.
