We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head of Office to lead i2L Research’s Northeast Office in Newcastle. This role is integral to our operations, overseeing high-quality agricultural research studies, managing key client accounts, and supporting financial oversight. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in upholding i2L’s scientific and operational standards, fostering a collaborative team environment, and managing projects to completion in a fast-paced setting. Key Responsibilities: - Operational Leadership : Manage workflows, supervise Study Directors and Trials Officers, and coordinate all project phases from client inquiry to completion. - Client Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring timely communication and exceptional service standards. - Project Coordination: Oversee trial scheduling, study progress, and coordination with external suppliers to maintain protocol timelines and client expectations. - Team Development: Provide training, mentorship, and support to both new and existing staff, ensuring compliance with SOPs and GEP accreditation. - Financial Reporting: Collaborate on financial matters, including cash flow management, KPI tracking, and reporting to the Research group. - Account Management: Build and manage key accounts across the i2L Research group, strengthening long-term client relationships. Candidate Profile: Essential Knowledge and Skills - Strong scientific background, ideally with exposure to agricultural, crop protection, or related fields. - Knowledge of IPM, EPPO guidelines, and GEP standards. - Project management and organizational expertise, with proficiency in tools like MS Excel and ARM. - Proven ability to lead and coordinate teams, especially within cross-functional settings. - Excellent communication, influencing skills, and a collaborative, hands-on approach. Preferred Experience - Experience with agricultural and horticultural trials in crop protection, biostimulants, or weed management. - Customer liaison and key account management experience. - Familiarity with financial concepts such as cash flow, work in progress, and deferred income management. Qualifications - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science (Agriculture, Microbiology, Chemistry, or similar). - Training in management and, ideally, BASIS certification.
