Overview Of Project/role:
We are the technology team that manages RedHat and Solaris at TfL (Transport for London). We manage the complete lifecycle from project delivery, maintenance and decommission.
Key Accountabilities:
1. You will be responsible for the Red Hat lifecycle at TfL using satellite server to maintain and ansible to deploy Red Hat builds. This is a hybrid role with a mix of VMWare technology, Azure Stack and Azure cloud.
2. It is an operational role and is part of an on-call rota for high severity incidents.
3. BaU (Business as Usual) – your primary focus will be preventing outages through checks and monitoring, and if a failure does occur, identifying the root cause and restoring the service.
4. Projects – you will be delivering specific project outcomes related to the Unix environment and delivery of new services, including proof of concepts activities. You will also need to collaborate closely with our team of technical delivery managers, and often architects to help deliver these outcomes.
5. Lifecycle and CSI – you will ensure that our Unix tools and platforms remain upgraded and compliant to keep them safe from cyber-attacks, stable, and fully supported. You will also work closely with our team of technical delivery managers to deliver improvements to existing infrastructure.
