Our client, a low volume and bespoke manufacturing business in Leeds, seek to appoint a Production Engineer to improve manufacturing techniques to increase efficiency on the shop floor and aid the smooth introduction of products from R&D into production. Working alongside multiple departments you will be a good communicator able to quickly integrate and have at least one years' experience of working for a manufacturer with an on-site R&D team. Reporting in to the Manufacturing Manager you will also produce basic tooling aids for ease of manufacture and be the point of contact within the lean function to answer queries on production engineering for the quality, production, maintenance and design departments. The ideal Production Engineer will come from a low volume manufacturing background with variation within the product range and have had some exposure to automation and robotics Production Engineer - Role and Responsibilities - Manufacturing Engineer - Address root causes of inefficiencies. Work with quality department and understand 4D/8D/Root Cause Analysis. Implement CAPA - Work with test department to maintain test equipment - Increase OEE and reduce machine downtime. Work with maintenance and advise on TPM/PPM - Make improvements to processes and production techniques. Work with production to increase manufacturing efficiency - Design Reviews to allow the design of easily manufacturable products - Liaise with Lean Engineers. Knowledge of SMED/POKE YOKE techniques Production Engineer - Skills and Abilities - Manufacturing Engineer - Basic experience of production engineering: layout, continuous flow, SMED, CAPEX, planning, capacity modelling/simulation, costing - Some lean manufacturing and continuous improvement knowledge - HND/Degree qualified in Production or Manufacturing Engineering preferred - Knowledge of low volume bespoke manufacturing Production Engineer, Lean, NPD, Design, R&D, Manufacturing Engineer If this role could appeal please do apply now
