Your New Role Quarriers Glasgow North West Carers Service are recruiting a full time Family Wellbeing Worker (Young Carers). The service is designed to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of unpaid Carers of all ages in Northwest Glasgow by offering person centred, inclusive and holistic support focussing on what matters to them and their families enabling them to continue in their caring role, where appropriate and support them to have a life of their own. You will be required to: Work in partnership with Young Carers to complete Young Carer Statements which support and identify the needs of Young Carers, adhering to GIRFEC and SHANNARI indicators ensure effective partnership working with other stakeholders such as SWS, Education and Health which support the whole family Offer a range of practical and emotional supports to Young Carers which minimises the negative impact of caring responsibilities and achieves positive wellbeing Facilitate group learning/activity programmes for individuals and families Utilise a range of tools to consult with Young Carers and their families to ensure their views actively shape service delivery both locally and nationally. Adhere to a system of recording within the project which contributes to the overall evaluation of the service and plans for future service development. Have an understanding of the needs of unpaid carers, including their roles, contribution and unique challenges Undertake any other duties or responsibilities which are commensurate with the post What you will need to succeed/bring to the role Reliability, flexibility and a positive attitude Ability to build trusting relationships Empathy and excellent communication skills Excellent team player Ability to apply transferable life experience and skills to support and enable individuals. I t is essential for the successful candidate to have access to a car Working pattern: This is a full time permanent agile working role offering 37 hours per week Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm with possible occasional evening and weekend work.
