My client requires an experienced contract quality engineer to work in composites on a hypercar project.
This contract is outside IR35.
Responsibilities
1. Define, create, and manage a strategy for meeting the programmes quality requirement.
2. Ensure that customers’ requirements are met through establishing robust internal processes and providing engineering feedback where required.
3. Managing and continuously improving an agile quality management system and team.
4. Supporting FMEA activities.
5. Provide guidance to the inspection team and ensuring quality best practices are being followed.
6. Creating close working relationships with suppliers to ensure the development of safety critical parts are robustly manufactured.
7. Auditing suppliers for approval or performance assessment of new and existing suppliers.
8. Developing strategies to ensure visual carbon composites are in line with the customer requirements whilst having a right-first-time mentality.
9. Utilising 8D principles as a basis for effective problem resolution and able to facilitate the resolution of complex, cross functional issues.
10. Actively working with suppliers to collaboratively develop product specifications to align with process capability.
Requirements
1. Degree or similar – Mechanical Engineering/Automotive Engineering.
2. Automotive Tier 1 / OEM or SQE experience, must have sound knowledge of APQP systems & procedures.
3. Evidence of client or customer facing experience.
4. Proven and skilled use of CAD (CATIA v5).
5. Auditing experience.
6. Valid UK driving licence to be able to travel to supplier locations as needed.
