Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced full-time, band 6 or 7 neuro Occupational Therapist to join our highly developed, inter-disciplinary team. This position is for our Community Service, where you'll be expected to bring your own experience to make the post truly your own within a fast growing area of the business.
For December and January we are offering a £1000 welcome bonus, payable after 6 months probation.
This role would require you to cover the Southampton area + a 2 hour radius around Southampton, though most clients will be based in Southampton.
Travel time will also be paid.
We will consider part time candidates of 22.5 hours per week and above.
The ideal candidate will possess developed skills in providing direct clinical care, holistic assessment, treatment, review and management of clients with physical, cognitive and psychological impairments as a result of acquired brain injury. Individuals working with us will benefit from ongoing professional development opportunities. You will be supported and funded to pursue skill based/academic CPD programmes and regular opportunities to participate in in-service training.

Main Duties of the Job
* Provide direct clinical care, which encompasses Occupational Therapy holistic assessment, treatment, review and management of clients with physical, cognitive and psychological impairments as a result of acquired brain injury.
* Ensure appropriate pathways of care and communication via liaison and referrals to other agencies as required.
* Work as an autonomous practitioner being professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of work, managing own caseload and maintaining accurate records.
* Work as an integral member of the Interdisciplinary team to agreed systems and processes to produce common rehabilitation goals as part of the rehabilitation programme.
* Clinically supervise junior Occupational Therapy staff, assistants and students.
* Provide specialist advice to other health care professionals, carers and family members.
* Demonstrate commitment to maintaining and improving clinical standards as set by national and regional bodies.
* Ongoing professional development.
* Take an active role in service development.
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
* Diploma/ Degree in Occupational Therapy.
* HCPC Registration.
* Evidence of completion of specialist courses within the field of neurological and stroke therapy.
Experience Essential
* Postgraduate experience working with neurological conditions.
* Evidence of completion of specialist courses within the field of neurological rehabilitation and possesses developed specialist knowledge.
* Experience of assessment and treatment of complex and specialist cases within field of neurological therapy.
* Possess skills for assessing, forming occupational diagnosis and providing treatment to patient caseload.
* IT Skills use of word, excel, database, power point, email and internet use.
* CPD evidence of maintaining clinical skills and knowledge through clinical practice and formal education.
* Demonstrates understanding of complex relationship between physical, cognitive, psychological and social dimensions of illness. Knowledge of current legislation.
* Ability to conduct appropriate Risk Assessment.
* Experience of supervising staff and students teaching.
* A clean driving licence is required to enable use of company wheelchair accessible vehicles.
