Key Duties:
1. To lead the Fleet Workshop team to ensure all operational imperatives are met
2. To lead the drive in business change and develop the procedures necessary to ensure services are maintained at most cost-effective outcomes
3. To lead in the tendering and procurement of vehicles, machinery and associated equipment to meet the needs of the Service, in line with Fleet, Equipment and Procurement plans
4. To set and manage the programme of servicing and repairs of the Services Red and White Fleet
About You:
As a Fleet Manager you will be essential in setting and delivering our plans for our fleet across a wide range of vehicles, including pumping appliances, specialist appliances, cars, vans, and even some boats.
We are looking for someone who has:
1. Strong background in fleet management
2. Commercial awareness
3. Excellent communication skills
4. Ability to evaluate quality of work undertaken
5. Customer relationship management
Qualifications:
1. Degree level qualification or equivalent experience in Motor Vehicle Engineering
2. Qualified vehicle engineer
3. NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health or equivalent experience
4. DVSA MOT Manager
5. Full Car and LGV driving licence to a minimum Category C
Experience:
1. Practical application of technical knowledge
2. Managing a tendering process from start to finish
3. Negotiating contracts in excess of £100,000
4. Setting and monitoring departmental KPIs
