* PhD in Chemistry, Biophysics, or a related disciplin e (Desirable).
* Expertise as a synthetic supramolecular chemist, membrane (bio)chemist, or in single-molecule detection methods (e.g., fluorescence microscopy and/or patch-clamp electrophysiology).
* Strong interest in transmembrane processes at the interface of chemistry and biophysics.
* Ability to collaborate across research groups within Edinburgh and internationally.
* Excellent communication and written skills, with experience in preparing manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
Job Description:
The successful applicant will work full-time (35 hours per week) on a fixed-term/temporary contract, with the possibility of considering part-time or flexible working patterns. Hybrid working requests that combine a mix of remote and regular on-campus working will also be considered on a non-contractual basis. The main responsibilities include:
* Conducting research on chemical assembly and single-molecule detection of transmembrane processes.
* Collaborating with research groups within the University of Edinburgh and internationally.
* Preparing manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
