General Teaching Assistant - Bexley
Pay: 80 - 100 per day (Dependent on Experience)

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Teaching Support:
o Implement planned learning activities/teaching programmes as agreed with the teacher, adjusting activities based on students' responses.
o Assist in planning and evaluating learning activities, providing feedback to the teacher on student progress and behaviour.
o Monitor, assess, and record student progress and activities.
o Provide feedback to students on their progress and attainment under teacher guidance.
* Classroom Assistance:
o Arrange and provide resources for lessons and activities as directed by the teacher.
o Support students' social and emotional well-being, reporting concerns to the teacher when necessary.
o Assist in the development of individual plans for students, such as One Page Profiles, EHCPs, and case studies.
o Support the use of ICT in lessons and invigilate formal and mock examinations.
* Student Support:
o Work with students with special educational needs (SEN) and those for whom English is not their first language.
o Help students develop personal and social skills, encouraging independence in tasks such as eating, dressing, and hygiene.
o Escort and supervise students on educational visits and out-of-school activities.
* Collaboration and Communication:
o Share information about students with staff, parents/carers, and external agencies as appropriate.
o Support the work of other Teaching Assistants and volunteers in the classroom.
* Professional Development and Duties:
o Attend meetings, briefings, and CPD sessions as required.
o Undertake training to assist students with medical and care needs, ensuring full access to school trips/visits.
o Facilitate smooth transitions between educational phases.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Handle immediate problems or emergencies according to school policies and procedures.
* Respect confidentiality regarding sensitive issues linked to students, staff, and the academy.
* Support inclusion and detentions, ensuring statutory compliance.
* Comply with safeguarding policies and liaise with the Designated Safeguarding Person when necessary.
Requirements:

* Experience working with children, particularly those with SEN or EAL (preferred but not essential).
