Contractual Asbestos Operations Manager
Location: Chelmsford, Essex
Salary/Benefits: £32k - £60k + Training & Benefits
Our Client is a privately-owned Asbestos consultancy, based in the South East of England, and they are recruiting for an experienced Operations Manager to join their successful outfit. You will be managing the daily running of office, laboratory and site staff, in order to effectively and successfully service client contracts. Suitable candidates will have a proven track record managing teams and positively nurturing staff to achieve their full potential. You must be commutable to their offices and must hold at least one Asbestos BOHS P Certification. Ideally you will have a methodical and proactive approach to work. Experience / Qualifications:
1. Will have worked within an Operational Manager position for a UKAS Accredited outfit
2. Must have hands-on experience overseeing daily operations of Asbestos site and office staff
3. Will be qualified with one or more BOHS P-certifications, including: P401, P402, P403, P404, P405 (or RSPH equivalents)
4. Holding industry-related memberships and training would also support applications
5. Well-versed in UKAS and HSG guidelines
6. Strong written ability and IT proficiency
7. Fantastic organisational skills
8. Able to effectively communicate
The Role:
1. Managing daily operations within a busy, UKAS Accredited firm
2. Ensuring smooth execution of works throughout multiple departments, to guarantee contracts are serviced to a high level and within timescales and budgets
3. Managing workloads for office and site staff, ensuring all areas of contracts are covered as well as finding the most efficient ways to run projects
4. Producing and delivering tenders in order to onboard new client streams
5. Being the first point of contact for internal staff in order to resolve issues and provide support
6. Involvement in the recruitment of new members of staff, including interviewing and training
7. Maintaining company compliance standards to maintain UKAS accreditation
8. Attending client sites to outline projects and discuss contractual requirements
9. Providing detailed technical advice to clients
10. Identifying areas for training and implementing improvements to the team
11. Producing site specific RAMS
12. Conducting quality checks on works and surveys to maintain industry compliance and service standards
