Senior Analyst (Senior Associate) Infrastructure Equity, Real Assets

With more than £180bn in assets under management, and a world-class investment team, AustralianSuper has the appetite and capability to directly invest in large-scale opportunities. The Fund is an active investor across global financial markets, real assets, private credit, and private equity, with the aim of delivering sustainable, long-term performance for its members.
Our Infrastructure portfolio is over £20 billion, and we aim to approximately triple it by 2030. We typically seek to invest equity tickets in excess of £500 million per investment with the ability to make individual investments over £1.5 billion. Our key sectors of focus are digital infrastructure, transport, energy, and utilities. We have an active and flexible investment approach and can act as a large minority or as a majority/controlling investor.
Your new role
You will use your broad-based analytical skills and emerging commercial acumen to accurately identify and analyse key investment issues and make recommendations to senior colleagues. You will be a key part of the team and assist across new transaction origination, execution, and asset and portfolio management.
You will work collaboratively to support excellent financial modelling outcomes for the portfolio. You will recommend, implement, and oversee high quality reporting and research in accordance with regular requirements, pertinent to our strategic priorities, including:
* Researching, analyzing, and evaluating a variety of infrastructure sectors and direct investment opportunities.
* Building complex dynamic financial models to evaluate investment opportunities, including assessment of returns, implementation of valuation methodologies, testing of assumptions and sensitivities.
* Being the primary point of contact for the model workstream when undertaking due diligence for a new investment, and serving as the primary contact for providing comments to external and internal parties on the financial model and valuation outputs used for internal due diligence and valuation purposes.
* Providing detailed investment valuation analysis which will assist the team in understanding the value and price for a new opportunity.
This role is based on site at London King's Cross Estate, one of the core assets of the Fund's global portfolio, with a hybrid work schedule.
What you'll need
Culture is key at AustralianSuper, and we are looking for someone who is a team player that enjoys working in a high-performing collaborative team. We will need you to have:
* Proven experience in an analytical role in investment banking, infrastructure equity fund, or private equity with direct experience across either digital infrastructure, transport infrastructure, or energy transition.
* Superior quantitative financial modelling skills.
* Excellent analysis and research skills.
* Significant experience with undertaking analysis of information and drawing conclusions.
* Advanced use of MS Office, particularly Excel.
* Experience working with market data platforms (e.g. Bloomberg, Capital IQ).
* Diligent with excellent attention to detail.
