Estates Officer - Derby Location: Derby Join DHU's Estates Team and play a vital role in ensuring the efficient management and smooth operation of our sites and services. As an Estates Officer, you will be the primary point of contact for all parties involved in maintaining and managing DHU's properties. This includes liaising with property owners, landlords, agents, maintenance contractors, and other building users to ensure that our sites remain safe, well-maintained, and functional. What your typical day looks like: Property Oversight: Implement systems to manage DHU properties and ensure operational efficiency. Issue Resolution: Lead on operational issues, supporting front-line staff to resolve them swiftly. Escalation Procedures: Help create and enforce escalation policies to resolve on-the-ground issues. Compliance & Audits: Assist in building audits, focusing on quality improvements and safety compliance. Customer Focus: Enhance the Estates team's reputation by prioritising both clinical and non-clinical customer needs with a can-do attitude. Relationship Building: Develop strong relationships with DHU staff and property landlords to understand service needs. Project Support: Contribute to capital investment projects and ensure adherence to building safety standards. Health & Safety: Ensure PPM, risk assessments, and safety procedures are up-to-date for all facilities management. Technical & Financial Support: Assist with small works projects, reviewing payments, raising orders, and maintaining FM records. To be a successful Estates Officer, you'll need: A minimum of a level 2 qualification or equivalent in an Facilities Management or Building Surveying related discipline IOSH Managing Safely is desirable Good standard of education Full clean UK driving licence Experience of working in a similar role within the healthcare sector or a large complex organisation. Experience in the analysis of technical and complex data. Experience in operational estate FM or maintenance. Knowledge of statutory compliance for Fire, Asbestos and Water. Good verbal communication skills.
