You will report directly to the Higher Executive Office Fleet Manager and be responsible for keeping the team briefed on current activity within the division. You will need to be clear in your requests to division and seek to understand their priorities and commitments.
Your role will be instrumental in the successful conclusion of many projects, both ongoing and yet to come. It is an exciting time to be joining the team, with lots of changes being implemented and the defence review in progress.
You will use a variety of different computer platforms to support training for operations and for data analysing, such as: Churchill, SLIM, JAMES and OPUS. On the job training for these programmes will be given, but it is important that any applicant has, at least, basic excel skills and good general digital literacy.
You will use our computer platform tools, to enable data analysis on fleets, fleet usage, fleet states and Basic Unit Fleet levels. You will be in a post which responds to high level, short notice activity. We will be looking for people with skills to cope with lots of demand.
As the Fleet Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Management of the current 3rd (United Kingdom) Division Ground Effect Vehicles, via the Whole Fleet Management Policy; circa 6,500 vehicles. Ensuring Units hold the accurate numbers and of the accurate variants. Management is achieved by the JAMES application, SLIM and excel
Plan and deliver solutions against priorities for vehicle resourcing to support training and operational requirements, achieved using Data Analysis and communication with the wider team and 3rd (United Kingdom) Division Fleet Management team
Deliver Army Vehicle Fielding Plans in line with capability development orders and policy
Advise 3rd (United Kingdom) Division of the HQ Field Army’s future equipment plans and ongoing projects. Advising the wider team of progress of ongoing projects within your division
