JOB TITLE: Learning Support Technician
LOCATION: Worcester

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: WPI's Electrical and Computer Engineering Department is seeking a Learning Support Technician whose primary responsibilities include monitoring and assisting campus students, faculty, and staff in Electronics and Mechanics. Duties include updating, ordering, and dispensing electrical and mechanical components, teaching soldering, troubleshooting, and project fabrication for various departmental courses and projects. Proficiency in Multisim/Labview, Ultiboard, and Solidworks is required, along with knowledge of machine shop equipment and tooling.
Responsibilities:
1. Fabricate and troubleshoot various electrical and mechanical projects and systems.
2. Assist faculty, students, and staff with electrical and mechanical problems.
3. Perform or oversee student assistance in tracking project accounts and maintaining inventory of components and equipment.
4. Help faculty, staff, and students find information on parts and equipment.
5. Assist in routine maintenance of shop equipment and department PCs.
6. Assist students in troubleshooting electronic and mechanical project fabrication problems.
7. Perform or oversee student help in stocking and dispensing components and kits.
8. Order necessary electro-mechanical supplies with ECE manager's approval.
9. Oversee student use of machine and electrical shop tools and equipment.
10. Create sophisticated class demonstrations under faculty direction.
Requirements:
* Associate degree
* 2-10 years of experience
