SEMH Teacher needed in an Alternative Provision in Bromsgrove Immediately

An Alternate Provision in Bromsgrove are looking for a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join their team full-time, starting ASAP on an ongoing basis.
This Forward-thinking and ambitious provision is located in Bromsgrove caters for students aged 11-16 with social emotional mental health needs and related behaviours. They are a small site who pride themselves in creating a trustworthy, motivating and nurturing atmosphere where every pupil is encouraged and inspired to achieve their potential and develop a love of learning. This ambitious and principled school always work to the best of their ability instilling a ‘can do’ attitude by encouraging others to share knowledge skills and expertise. In order to seek educational excellence, they maintain consistence with the approach to any issues they are faced with.
You will be responsible for teaching a class of children with SEMH needs, meaning that you must be able to adjust your teaching methods and the existing curriculum to meet the needs of each individual child specifically children with autism spectrum disorder. It is important that you help and inspire the children to help them reach their true academic potential! Planning is also involved in this role.
The preferred candidate will have:
* Experience in working with special needs (ASC, MLD, SEMH)
* Minimum 6 months’ experience working with children and young people
* QTS preferred but non-qualified candidates will be considered.
* Excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum
* Experience of using CPI (MAPA, Team Teach) is advantageous but not essential.
* Enhanced DBS registered or willing to acquire a new certificate.
* Can effectively manage behaviour using positive behaviour strategies.
* Will be kind, caring and patient when dealing with children who require specialist support.
