Practice Manager Stepping Stones, Cared for Children’s Team
Grade: 5A, £52,805- £54,543
Working hours: 36 hours per week
Contract type: Permanent

An excellent opportunity has arisen to appoint a Practice Manager within our Cared for Children’s Team.
The post holder will have at least 5 years post qualifying Social Work experience, be able to display and promote Salford’s behaviours and values, whilst demonstrating enthusiasm and passion for protecting children and young people across the city.
Stepping Stones Cared for Children’s team
The service is made up of 3 teams which will soon be 4, each with their own Practice Manager, Advanced Social Worker and five/six Social Workers. There are opportunities to work with our cared for children in various settings such as residential, foster care, with connected persons and at home with parents. You will be responsible for managing the care plans for our children and young people, in partnership with families and partner agencies to achieve better outcomes.
Workers in this department seize the opportunity to support families to make progress so risks are reduced for children and young people. Salford has a wide variety of support services to assist with this and prides itself on positive multi-agency working and approaches, through use of the Family Partnership model and tools to engage families and understand their agendas. Our social work teams are supported by a small team of social work support officers co-located with the social work teams, dedicated administration support alongside minute taking pools to help to reduce the time spent on administrative tasks and close working relationships with our integrated family time service. The service also consists of champions and specialists to include Domestic Abuse, adoption, missing from home, with opportunities for all social workers to train and develop to become a Champion in an area of particular interest to them.

Your role will include:
* Oversight and management of the day to day delivery of all aspects of the Social Work team, focusing on the quality and improvement of social work and service delivery.
* Ensuring effective participation of children, young people and families, and that their lived experiences inform plans.
* Maintaining documentation, record keeping, accounting and communication, and ensuring effective information strategies are in place for appropriate data sharing.
* Regular and effective analysis, monitoring, measurement and maintaining of the performance of the team to ensure impact on outcomes for children and families is understood.
* Accountability to the Service Manager for staff supervision, care and development of the team.
