If so, then why not come join our School Aged Immunisation Service (SAIS), as we deliver and develop the service within the West Yorkshire Vaccination and Immunisation Collaboration (WYVIC). You will be part of a supportive and dedicated team of Nurses, Immunisation Support Workers and Administrators working collaboratively to deliver immunisations to the children and young people of Leeds, according to the National Childhood Immunisation and Influenza Programme. You will be responsible for maintaining the safe storage, transportation, and administration of vaccines and will contribute to the mentorship of pre-registration Nurses and support of Immunisation Support Workers. Our nurses receive Clinical Supervision and Child Protection Supervision and are expected to recognise and address any safeguarding issues that may arise. The role is 22.5 hours a week and is an all year around post. As a SAIS Nurse you will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to have positive conversations regarding immunisations with young people, parents, and school-based staff; you will be flexible to change and able to work across the city at our immunisation sessions held within school settings and designated community clinics. Previous experience in immunising would be advantageous but individuals with a keen interest and potential will also be considered as we offer a robust induction and training package for any identified learning and development needs. Our working hours are 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday, however some flexibility outside of these hours are welcome, as we also provide school-based immunisations outside of these hours.
