Job Description
* Designing, implementing, maintaining, and improving mechanical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems.
* Directing and coordinating manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications and customer requirements.
* Developing manufacturing processes by studying product requirements and researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
* Conferring with equipment vendors to ensure satisfactory system performance.
* Preparing product reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information and trends.
* Keeping equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services, following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures.
* Ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
* Complying with codes and regulations in all work.
The Successful Applicant
A successful 'Mechanical Engineer' should have:
* A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* Proven expertise in mechanical systems design and analysis.
* Proficiency in CAD software for designing and simulating mechanical systems.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a creative approach for new ideas.
* Excellent communication skills to present designs and solutions to colleagues and clients.
* A strong understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, and structural analysis.
