At a glance:
The salary offered for this role is up to £42,700, plus a shift premium. Please note this role will attract a shift premium of 15% of the base rate (£4,725).
Working Hours: Full-time role, 37.5 hours per week on a 2-week rota, with the expectation of working 1 in 2 Saturdays at premium overtime rates. Week 1: Monday to Friday - 06:00 - 14:00; Week 2: Monday to Friday - 14:00 - 22:00.
Based at our Waitrose Regional Distribution Workshop in Aylesford, Kent, our Vehicle Technician ensures our fleet of vehicles remain well maintained and road-worthy.
What you'll be doing:
As a Light Vehicle Technician within the team, you’ll be working on up to 3.5 Tonne Delivery Vehicles. It will be your job to ensure all vehicles are maintained to a safe and roadworthy standard to both VOSA and Partnership’s requirements. You will need to be aware of best practice and current commercial vehicle repair techniques to ensure that high quality repairs are carried out in a cost-effective manner.
Essential Experience/Qualifications required:
1. City and Guilds 1,2,3 Vehicle technician or equivalent qualifications
2. Full UK Driving Licence
3. A proven background in transport commercial vehicle repairs
4. Knowledge of commercial vehicle legislation and roadworthiness
5. Experience of using diagnostic tools
6. A 'C' or 'C+E' driving licence is desirable, but not essential
