We offer solutions that align to Allstate’s TSA (Target State Architecture) and exciting Business Strategy, whilst also ensuring that we support the classic systems that are a part of the existing fabric and structure of the company’s success. We are delighted to be offering this exciting opportunity to join a team in the RaaS area, where you will be involved in building software solutions that will contribute towards one, or more, of the Transactional Rating, Ratemaking or Reporting aspects of the Transformative Growth Rating platform. As the successful candidate, you will work in an established team, working alongside other experienced engineers who will assist with your personal progression. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) Design, develop, and test complex, high volume & scalable applications. Collaborate with business partners and Product owners to review backlog, ensuring they are clear, concise, and technically feasible. Provide input into the architecture and design of the product, collaborating with the team in solving problems the right way. Translate product requirements into innovative solutions that provide an excellent client experience and align with architectural roadmap. Code, test, debug, implement, and support complex insurance products. Strive for continuous improvements of our processes, application, designs, and application execution. Essential criteria – Candidates should clearly state on their application form how they meet each of the essential criteria as these will be assessed during shortlisting and only these deemed to meet all of the below criteria will move forward to the next stage. Currently at Band C OR Band B2/B1 with a 2022 end of year performance score of 3 or above. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Java software engineering role. Experience working within an agile development environment. Desirable Criteria – These criteria may be used where we have a high number of applicants Be able to demonstrate knowledge of Spring Framework principles. Have a working experience of front-end development languages such as JavaScript, React.js etc. Understand CI/CD fundamentals and have utilised, or have knowledge of, Jenkins and PCF. Experience with using source control tools such as GitHub. Understand SQL or NoSQL databases and their use in a real-world application scenario.
