You will work for a high-end, well-established, multi-billion turnover international retail business, based in their prestigious London office.
Your new role
This is a Management Accountant role with a twist! You will support the Finance Manager and Financial Reporting Manager in the production of monthly management accounts for the UK and Ireland business. In addition to this, you will assume responsibilities for Treasury, audit, and compliance. Working within a finance team of circa 10 people, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
1. Maintaining fixed asset register
2. Handling the WIP ledger (projects)
3. Ensuring journals are correctly posted/reviewed
4. Meeting strict deadlines at month-end close and quarter-end close
5. Monthly reporting with variance analysis commentary
6. Balance sheet reconciliation
7. Supporting departmental managers with annual budget preparation
8. Full ownership of treasury function including banking platform and credit card portal administration, pooling system (all bank accounts), cash management process, liaison/relationship management with banks, preparation of cash spend reports monthly
9. Assisting with the preparation of VAT returns for the UK and Ireland
10. Providing support to the Finance Manager for internal audit / quarterly and yearly audit
11. Submission of monthly/quarterly government surveys
What you'll need to succeed
This exciting, permanent Management Accountant job will suit someone with recent, relevant experience working as a Management Accountant, and who is actively studying towards a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA). To be considered for this role, you MUST have experience working in the Retail/FMCG industry (please note that applications without this experience will not be considered). Previous experience using SAP S/4HANA is highly advantageous (although not essential). You'll be a friendly and hard-working individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to build solid working relationships both within and outside of the finance team.
