Step into the exciting world of sneaker making with this two-day leatherwork and stitching workshop, where you’ll design and create a pair of bespoke trainers that perfectly reflect your style.
Workshop Dates:

10am – 4pm
*Please note; Bookings for this workshop will close on Mon 12 May to allow enough time to order materials.
Under the expert guidance of leatherworker and cobbler Ben Jones, you’ll learn the skills needed to craft unique, durable, and stylish shoes you’ll be proud to wear—and walk home in at the end of the course!
This hands-on workshop begins with an introduction to sneaker design and leatherwork techniques. You’ll choose from a variety of leathers (with vegan options available upon request), colors, and accessories to bring your creative vision to life. Whether you prefer bold, eye-catching designs or classic, understated styles, the choice is entirely yours.
With Ben’s support, you’ll master essential skills like working with patterns, cutting leather and fabric, and assembling your design from the ground up—literally! The course concludes with you hand-sewing your custom uppers to your soles, resulting in a wearable piece of art.
What sets these trainers apart is their sustainable design. The uppers and soles are connected solely by stitching, meaning the soles can be easily replaced if they wear out. This innovative approach reduces landfill waste and allows you to extend the life of your sneakers. Plus, the soles are made from 60% natural rubber, offering a more eco-friendly option. For added versatility, you can even create multiple uppers to swap out on the same sole, giving you a variety of looks with minimal effort.
Ben’s years of experience as a leatherworker and cobbler ensure that you’ll receive personalized guidance throughout the course, helping you turn your ideas into reality. Whether you’re a first-time maker or a seasoned crafter, this workshop offers an inspiring and enjoyable way to learn new skills while creating a product that is entirely your own.
The deadline is Saturday 24 May 2025 at 10:00.
