Family Engagement Officer
Job description
Temporary Fixed Term Grant Funded to 31/03/2026
Part Time 30hours per week/39 weeks per annum Term time only.
There are 6 positions available.
Team Teulu is our local authority approach to family engagement. As we approach our third year of delivery, we are looking to recruit six new Family Engagement Officers to continue our recognised good practice approaches in the Neath and Dulais valleys, and support roll out into two new communities in the Afan and Pontardawe valleys.
Family Engagement Officers will be supported by the Learning Community Manager and wider Community Focused Schools team to deliver family engagement and community engagement opportunities across schools in one learning community. Successful candidates in this frontline role will demonstrate their approachability and empathy in supporting families, and have a strong sense of moral purpose.
The post holders will bring their energy and people skills to represent our core values to our stakeholders, with particular focus on pupil and family voice, and feeding back our impact and outcomes to all.
You will be responsible for increasing family involvement and engagement in school life, supporting all families to build excellent home-school relationships. Your time will be split between two school sites, so you will need to demonstrate excellent time management skills, and the ability to react and respond to varying priorities.
You will demonstrate your ability to work with partners, signposting families to expert professionals to support them at times of crisis. You will be supported to do this through our Learning Community networks.
If you think that you have the necessary experience and qualifications for this role, we would love to hear from you.
